How Yarn ChickHen handles recommended links.

Yarn ChickHen may sometimes share links to patterns, yarn, tools, books, stickers, merch, services or other crafty finds. Some of those links may be affiliate links, which means Yarn ChickHen may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.

Our simple promise.

We want Yarn ChickHen to feel cosy, honest and useful. If we recommend something, it should be because we genuinely like it, use it, are testing it, are curious about it, or think the Flock may find it helpful.

An affiliate commission will never be the reason we pretend to like something. Mrs T goes rogue with patterns, Mr T asks awkward beginner questions, and the Flock deserves honest opinions.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a special link that can track when someone clicks through and makes a purchase. If you buy through one of those links, Yarn ChickHen may receive a small commission or referral payment.

This does not normally cost you extra. The price should be the same whether you use our link or visit the site directly.

🧶

Example

We might recommend a crochet pattern, yarn tool, project bag, sticker sheet, book or useful crafty item.

🐣

What you pay

You should not pay more because it is an affiliate link. The commission comes from the seller or affiliate programme.

Where affiliate links may appear.

Affiliate or recommendation links may appear in places such as:

  • Yarn ChickHen blog posts;
  • pattern recommendation pages;
  • the Flock Shop or recommended finds section;
  • YouTube video descriptions;
  • social media posts;
  • emails or newsletters;
  • future colouring book, sticker, merch or craft resource pages.

Types of links we may use.

Yarn ChickHen may eventually use links connected to:

  • Amazon or Amazon KDP colouring books;
  • Etsy patterns or crafty finds;
  • print-on-demand merch such as mugs, stickers, totes or project bags;
  • craft tools, hooks, yarn, storage, books or accessories;
  • digital patterns, printables or other creative products;
  • services or platforms we use for the Yarn ChickHen website, videos or shop.

We may add or remove affiliate programmes over time as the Flock Shop and Yarn ChickHen content grows.

Sponsored, gifted or free items.

Sometimes a brand, shop, maker or company may send Yarn ChickHen a product for free, offer a discount, sponsor content, or ask us to review something.

When that happens, we will aim to make it clear. A free item does not guarantee a glowing review. We may say what we liked, what we did not like, who it may suit, and whether it feels useful for the Flock.

Reviews and opinions.

Any opinions on Yarn ChickHen are our own unless clearly stated otherwise. Mrs T and Mr T may have different opinions, especially when Mr T is confused, Mrs T has gone rogue, or yarn chicken has been lost in dramatic fashion.

We may talk about products we bought ourselves, products we were gifted, products we were sent for review, or products we are simply interested in. We will try to be clear when a post, video or link has a commercial connection.

Colouring books and our own products.

Some future Yarn ChickHen products may be our own products, such as colouring books, stickers, printables, digital patterns, mugs, tote bags or project bags.

Links to our own products are not exactly the same as affiliate links, but they are still commercial links because Yarn ChickHen may earn money from sales. We will try to make product pages clear and honest.

No professional advice.

Yarn ChickHen is a craft, creativity and entertainment site. Our recommendations are based on personal experience, interest, testing, viewer usefulness, or yarny curiosity.

Please check product details, prices, delivery, returns, pattern terms, safety information and suitability before buying anything. Things can change after we link to them.

Questions about a link?
